My computer went pffft
My desktop, which has had some blue screens lately with memory errors, sort of died early Monday morning. It turns on and brings up the boot screen, but that as far as it goes. The ram probably gave out. Or the motherboard’s ram slots. Either way, don’t want to invest in repairing a 5 year old machine, sooooo I’ve ordered a m9550f from HP.
8gb of ram, 512mb of video memory (3gig shared), 6gb cache, etc…
I’m not thrilled with vista, but I can live with it until windows 7 comes out. 7 is getting good reviews from the beta testers.
I know what you are thinking. You are thinking I should have gone with a Mac. I thought about it, but the prices on those for a good system are 1k higher then what I paid for the HP. I do think I’ll get a macbook eventually though. Or the mini.
I ordered the computer on monday afternoon and was told that it’d take 3-5 days to receive it. Also, I’d get an email when it ships. No email yet. So so so bored.
I’m using my mother’s laptop for internet access and this thing is Slow. No point installing any of my stuff on it, I doubt it could run them. I need to talk her into an upgrade. A basic model is only about 4 or 5 hundred these days.
I need to pick out a new monitor. I’m using my sister’s old dell 17inch desk hogger. I have my eye on a 22in LG from futureshop.
While I’m spending money I don’t really have (got to love low interest lines of credit!), I might also get myself a nano. Or maybe just go all out and get the touch. It’s only another hundred and a bit to get the good one. I dunno, still thinking.
I’m going to try and get a hold of you today or tomorrow to arrange a day for underworld. 😀
